In February 2007, Dutchess the Fox Terrier ran away from her yard in South Florida. Her owner, Katheryn Stang, was devastated, but never gave up hope she would see her beloved pet again. And now, over 12 years later, she finally has.
Dutchess was found many miles from her Florida home in Pittsburgh and has finally been reunited with Stang. No one knows exactly what happened to her over the last dozen years or how she ended up across the country, but thanks to Dutchess’ microchip, she was reunited with Stang.
"I held out hope because I paid for that microchip every year," said Strang. "It was $15 a year I wasn't going to give up hope for that. Always hope."
