Dolphins Stranded In St. Pete Saved By Human Chain Of Rescuers

A group of dolphins that were stranded in a canal in St. Pete, for days have been rescued by volunteers that formed a human chain to help free them.

The four dolphins were trapped in a canal and experts think the height and sound of a nearby bridge acted as a barrier to them.

The rescue team worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to wade into the canal and herd the dolphins out.

Rescuers formed a human chain and used sounds and vibrations to guide the dolphins into a bay. Everything went according to the plan and it only took 45 minutes before they swam away under the bridge.
