But you won't find any duets on his new album, Losing Sleep. "For me, I didn't want to force something that wasn't there and I didn't have a song that I was like, 'Aw man, this person would be perfect for this.' It was really something for me it was like, we could do something, but I don't think we should."
Kip Moore says he doesn’t put a lot of weight on country music awards shows, noting that his lack of nominations “doesn’t faze him one bit.” Kip says, “I think that anybody, any artist, would find joy in being recognized, and I think that if I was up for something or to win something, of course it would be humbling, and I would be thankful “But it doesn’t dictate how I feel. It’s not going to break me one way or the other.” He no longer bases his success on if he’s “playing arenas or winning awards. His goal is to truly touch people’s soul with his music, the way the greats did for him.”
Garth Brooks played to his sixth-millionth ticket holder on his world tour Sunday night in Indianapolis. Little did the ticket holder know when she bought four single tickets for her and her three friends that her generosity would put her into the spotlight. “This means none of them were sitting together and she gave the three better tickets to her girlfriends, put herself last. And because of that, guess who was sitting in the seat that was the six-millionth ticket sold."
Happy fifth anniversary to Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren! Thomas and Lauren have known each other since sixth grade, and dated on and off in high school. They began dating other people, but Thomas couldn't get Lauren off of his mind. Thomas talks about the moment when he knew Lauren was the one...audio "It was the night of Lauren's sister's graduation party. And I went over there and I basically told her how I felt about her for so long. And it was just like a very pivotal moment in our relationship."
Jason Aldean will take the stage tonight for the first time since the Las Vegas shooting. The country music superstar was performing at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on October 1st when a gunman started spraying bullets onto the crowd. Over 50 people were killed that night, and about 500 others were hurt. Aldean's show tonight is at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jake Owen, who also witnessed the horrific shooting, will play his first show tonight since the tragedy at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Keith Urban is a featured speaker at next year's South-By-Southwest event in Austin, Texas. Speakers are typically creative visionaries in the industry. The 2018 South-By-Southwest Conference and Festival runs from March 9th through the 18th. Urban has not yet said whether he'll perform while he's in Austin.
Shania Twain is back on the top of Billboard's county and all-genres charts. The last time the country and pop music legend dominated both charts was 15 years ago with her album, "Up!" "Now" is Twain's fifth studio album. It was released on September 29th.
