Miami, FL - South Florida’s culinary scene is making waves as the Michelin Guide adds new restaurants to its prestigious list ahead of its highly anticipated 2025 star announcements.
On Wednesday, Michelin unveiled 14 newly “recommended” restaurants across Florida, spotlighting standout eateries in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
Miami continues to shine as a dining hotspot, with four new restaurants earning a place in the guide.
While these additions do not yet hold Michelin stars or Bib Gourmand honors, being featured increases their chances of securing these distinctions in the future.
The Michelin Guide’s latest update did not include any recommendations from Broward or Palm Beach counties, despite an announcement in February that those regions would be part of the review process beginning in 2025.
The omission leaves South Florida food lovers wondering which local establishments will ultimately receive Michelin’s coveted recognition when the full awards are announced.
The Michelin Guide first arrived in Florida in 2022 as part of a $1.5 million partnership between Visit Florida and regional tourism agencies, including those representing Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
The initiative was designed to put Florida’s top-tier restaurants on the global map, giving them the same kind of recognition as Michelin-starred destinations in cities like New York and Paris.
Over the past three years, Miami has seen its restaurant scene gain international attention, with several high-profile establishments earning Michelin stars.
As the April 17 ceremony in Orlando approaches, the city’s culinary leaders are eagerly waiting to see which restaurants will make the next leap from “recommended” to star status.
The full Michelin star and Bib Gourmand announcements for 2025 will be unveiled in April.
