Walker Hayes jokingly said “there was no fun had” when he created the festive music video for “Fancy Like Christmas,” putting a holiday spin on his smash-hit single, “Fancy Like.” Hayes premiered the video on Wednesday morning (November 29) as the holiday season gets underway.

The country hitmaker features his wife and kids — plus Santa, massive inflatable yard decorations, a group of dancers and others — in the video for the new song that he debuted earlier this month. Hayes hilariously references tons of classic holiday traditions and staples in the revamped version of “Fancy Like,” including nods to classic Christmas movies, the mall Santa that scares children, singing along to Mariah Carey’s iconic Christmas hit, sipping seasonal peppermint mochas, getting tons of packages delivered and more (including an Applebee's reference, a tribute to the lyrics of the original “Fancy Like”).

“Yeah, we fancy like Christmas round a fake tree/ Nutcracker on the mantle/ And a candy cane candle/ Getcha eggnog, witcha fruit cake/ Go Jesus, it’s your birthday/ Bougie like blowups in the front yard/ Hopin’ Santa gonna leave an Applebee's gift card/ In my stocking even though we getting naughty all night/ That’s how we do, how we do, fancy like Christmas”

“There was no fun had when we made this video… no blow ups were harmed in the making of this vid,” Hayes said in his Instagram caption as he marked the “Fancy Like Christmas” music video release on Wednesday. Watch it here:
