A top surfer in El Salvador was killed by a lightning stride! It happened when Katherine Diaz was on the beach hugging a friend after training. She was killed instantly while her friend was thrown back but she is ok. Wow!
Katherine was training for the International Surfing Association World Surf Games in May, which is a qualifying event for the Olympics.
