Tyra Banks Replaces Tom Bergeron as Host of "Dancing With the Stars"

A day after it was revealed that Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron was not invited back for the upcoming Season 29, president of ABC Entertainment Karey Burke announced that Tyra Banks would be taking over as host,Us Weekly reports. “Tyra is an award-winning multihyphenate whose fierce female prowess and influence across many industries have made an indelible mark,” Burke said. “Her fresh take on America’s favorite dancing competition will surely bring more than a ‘smize’ to fans everywhere.” Banks also released a statement, saying she's been a DWTS fan "since the beginning," adding, "Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.” Bergeron had hosted the show since its inception in 2004. Co-host Erin Andrews, who had been with the show since 2014, will also not be returning after ABC said the show was heading in a “new creative direction.”
