Daniel Maples, the Florida meathead who was filmed going off on a fellow Costco customer who asked him to wear a mask, has been fired from his job as an insurance agent, theFort Myers News-Press reports. Wearing a "Running the World Since 1776" t-shirt, Maples, who charged at the customer and irately told him to "back the and "put your phone down," had worked for Ted Todd Insurance since 2016, and was listed as the company's "highest-producing sales agent" in his now-deleted corporate bio. “Thank you to everyone for their comments and messages raising awareness about a former employee at Ted Todd Insurance,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday. “Their behavior in the video is in direct conflict with our company values and their employment has been terminated.”
