Belmont Stakes Will Run In June Without Spectators

The Belmont Stakes will take place on June 20th, without spectators and on a shorter track.

For the first time ever, the Belmont, which is usually the third leg of the Triple Crown will be the first race. It will be followed by the rescheduled Kentucky Derby on September 5th and the Preakness Stakes on October 3rd.

The track will be shortened from a mile-and-a-half to a mile-and-one-eighth. And per New York GovernorAndrew Cuomo's guidelines, spectators will not be allowed to attend.
