"Bachelorette" Premiere Postponed Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Chris Harrison has announced that the season debut of The Bachelorette with Clare Crawley, originally scheduled for May 18, has been postponed due to the coronavirus, Entertainment Tonight reports. In an interview with the outlet's Lauren Zima, Harrison says Bachelorette is still the franchise's top priority. "It's crushing us right now. We know that this too shall pass and there are bigger problems and bigger fish to fry, but we really wish we were making an incredible show with Clare," he shared. "I mean, we would be over halfway done [with filming by this point], and Clare might be narrowing down finding the love of her life. How exciting -- and I hate that that is stolen from her at this particular time." Filming of the show has been shut down since March 13. He also said they are beginning to re-cast the suitors for Crawley, as many originally cast may not be available when filming resumes.
