Rihanna just dropped so much money to help fight COVID-19 that coronavirus gonna need an "Umbrella." This past Saturday, the singer's Clara Lionel Foundation announced that it's donating a whopping $5 million to several groups organizing relief efforts during the pandemic. Those nonprofits include Direct Relief, Feeding America, Partners in Health, The World Health Organization's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, and the International Rescue Committee. "When we first began this year, never could we have imagined how the coronavirus would so dramatically alter our lives," the foundation said in a statement. "It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, this pandemic will affect us all. And for the world's most vulnerable, the worst may be yet to come." The foundation hopes the money will help "immediately mobilize a broad response working with on-the-ground partners" by supporting food banks, accelerating testing in countries like Haiti and Malawi, and providing protective equipment for frontline health workers.
CNN notes that the funds will also provide resources to help protect Native communities that are also fighting the virus.
