A New York pizzeria is doing all it can to help find forever homes for shelter dogs -- by putting pictures of dogs on its pizza boxes.
The Just Pizza and Wing Company location in Amherst, New York, attached flyers to the boxes and let their customers know about the promotion, which also involves offering gift certificates to anyone who adopts a dog through the program.
Amazingly, they went through nearly a week’s worth of boxes on the first day, which resulted in a six-month-old puppy named Larry being adopted.
The team behind the effort has been so impressed with the response from the community that they’re now putting together plans to print flyers for adoptable cats as well.
I would love to see a Pizza Place or two in our awesome area, do this.........
