Kindergartener Uses Hot Cocoa Stand to Help Pay Students Lunch Debt for 123

After overhearing another student’s mother say she was having a hard time paying for an after-school program, five-year-old Katelynn Hardee of Vista, California, approached her own mom and wondered how she could help.

Katelynn decided to set up a hot cocoa stand to help kids pay off their school lunch debt -- and it turned out to be a huge success.

Katelynn sold enough hot cocoa and cookies from her stand to pay off the lunch debt of 123 students in her San Diego County school district.
