Last month, a deaf puppy named Emerson was featured on the Facebook page of an animal shelter with the hope of finding him a forever home.
It didn’t take long for Nicholas Abbot -- who is also hearing-impaired -- to see the posting and visit Emerson.
When Nicholas saw Emerson for the first time, he knew they were meant for one another. And since adopting Emerson, Nicholas has trained the pup using sign language.
Nicholas describes the bond he has with his new friend as “awesome” because they understand each other very well. It ended up being a match made in heaven.
