Mountain biker Jarrett Little was cruising through Columbus, Georgia, when he saw a stray dog who seemed to have been hit by a car. The dog was really thin, had some road rash and a broken leg.
Jarrett interrupted his bike ride to feed the dog, give him water -- and then lift the dog onto his back so he could ride into town and look for help.
Amazingly, once Jarrett got into town and told the story of the dog’s rescue, a woman named Andrea Shaw agreed to take over and nurse the dog back to good health.
Andrea took the dog off Jarrett’s hands, and not only got him medical help, but also gave him a new home on a horse farm in Maine.
And, she picked a great name for the dog -- Columbo, Bo for short, in honor of the town where she met him.
