A summer program in Little Rock, Arkansas, is dedicated to helping the blind improve their life skills -- and even work their way into getting better jobs.
The three-week program, called Jump Start, is organized by the Arkansas School for the Blind and exposes kids that are blind or visually impaired to job opportunities.
Jump Start sets these kids up for success by taking them to different activities and businesses in the area.
The students learn a lot about food service industry, health care, politics and law -- as well as basic business skills that can be used in almost every job.
The program is so successful that many students who have found success actually return and become counselors, helping others make the most of the lessons being offered.
