A chain of dry cleaning shops in Illinois is putting big smiles on the faces of thousands of high school girls this year by collecting and distributing prom dresses to needy students.
So far this year, Zengeler Cleaners has collected over 6,300 prom dresses on behalf of the Glass Slipper Project, a charity group that helps high school girls experience prom by eliminating the expense of fancy dresses. Many students will also get donated accessory items, including shoes, jewelry, handbags and makeup.
This is the 16th year the chain of dry cleaners has been involved in the effort to help those less fortunate and the effort seems to grow each year. More dresses get donated, which ends up touching more lives in the community.
