10-year-old released from hospital after Florida wildlife officials say she pried open gator's jaws to free her leg. The young girl was swimming in a designated swim area of Lake Mary Jane in Orlando, in about 2 foot-deep water. She was just 10 feet from the shore when suddenly an 8-foot-long alligator attacked her. Miraculously, she was able to pry open the alligator's mouth and remove her leg from his jaws. She made it back to the shore where she was taken to a nearby hospital. She has several puncture wounds on her leg, but she's lucky to have survived!
The alligator was caught and removed from the lake by a trapper.
