Granny Who Cooks at Manatee Jail, Arrested for Smuggling Drugs to Inmates

An employee at The Manatee County Jail, with no previous criminal record, as been arrested.. Manatee County Food Services employee Gretchen Rupprecht, has been charged with 2 counts of introduction to contraband.

Manatee County Sheriff office investigators say, deputies inside the Manatee County jail noticed an inmate who appeared to be impaired.

After questioning the inmate they admitted to taking drugs, which lead deputies to find a vape pen containing THC and delta 8.

Detectives also found several vape pens and eye drop containers with a clear liquid that tested to be methamphetamine.

64 year old Rupprecht, who is nicknamed “Granny” confessed to her involvement in the drug ring with three other inmates. she was paid $25 per meeting and a total of $100 for four meet-ups with the three inmates.
