Tampa Bay Lightning pledge $10M to charity!

Jeff Vinik--the owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning--and his wife, Penny announced today that the Lightning Community Heroes program will donate $10M to local charities over the next 5 years! The Lightning Community Heroes has already donated over $22 million to local organizations since 2011, and the Viniks announced today that the program has been extended another five years. They have also expanded the program to help reach more local people in need.

For the first time, Lightning players and staff are eligible to nominate philanthropic organizations to receive donations. Non profits can apply or be nominated to receive a $50,000 donation; each $50,000 donation will be given at every single home game in the upcoming season and post-season at Amalie Arena!
