Manatee & Sarasota County Teachers named Florida Teacher of The Year Finalists
A Manatee County Teacher & a Sarasota County Teacher, have both been named "Florida Teacher of The Year Finalists", Only 5 Were Selected in the Entire State and 2 Are From the Suncoast
The Florida Department of Education named Deelah Jackson a 4th grade teacher at Samoset Elementary School, in Bradenton as a finalist for the 2023 Florida Teacher of the year award
Deelah was names a finalist due to her outstanding professionalism and all the work that she does with her students.
Jackson has been a teacher at Samoset since August 2015, is the site director for the Enrichment program and assists with the Robotics team.
Then…. The Florida Department of Education announced a Sarasota Middle School teacher as a finalist for the 2023 Florida Teacher of the Year Award.
Jennifer Jaso is a sixth-grade teacher at Sarasota Middle school,
Jennifer is a social studies teacher …
The Selections were made from 185,000 public schools throughout the state of Florida, only five finalists were chosen for this award.
After each school district selects its teacher of the year, a committee reviews the district applications and the winner will be chosen after a series of reviews.
The winner will serve for one year as the Christa McAuliffe Ambassador for Education.
