CDL training and certification State funding coming to SCF and Manatee Technical Institute

Money is coming to Sarasota and Manatee Counties for Commercial Driver’s License Training.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says the state investing over $2 million dollars in CDL certification training across the state, including $930 thousand dollars to the State College of Florida for training. And $550 thousand dollars to Manatee Technical College for CDL & forklift training. Governor DeSantis says they are expecting to continue to see a shortage of truckers in the future.

Some companies are offering thousands of dollars in signing bonuses to sign up new employees to drive trucks.
