Florida Man Arrested For Trying to Steal a Snickers Bar with a Knife
Erick Minto allegedly strolled into a Clearwater convenience store on Tuesday night (8/17/21) and told the clerk on duty that he wanted some free food. When his request was denied, the 49-pulled out a large knife and pointed at the employee -- saying "don't make me do something stupid for a Snickers bar."
The victim handed over the sweet treat, but Minto panicked and fled the scene without his snack.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and were able to track down the suspect, who was traveling on foot.
Minto denied making any threats and insisted he was simply trying to trade the knife for a candy bar.
He was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery.
