Manatee County Moving Closer to Completing 44th Avenue East Extension

Manatee County Moving Closer to Completing 44th Avenue East Extension

Once the 44th Ave East project is complete, it will open up a four-lane road, which will extend from 14th St in Bradenton, all the way to Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

There are six phases to the project, (which are detailed on it's own website, link below)... crews have already completed four of those phases. Work is now ongoing on the fifth phase, which runs more than three miles… from 45th Street East to just before I-75.

Once the entire 44th Ave. East project is complete, it will give us another east waet route in Manatee County, that will be four lanes... going from 14th St. in Bradenton ( US. 41)…. and going all the way to Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

Construction of the ongoing section started in May of last year and will be completed in the fall of 2022 at a total cost of $54.6 million.

Now, work on widening 44th Avenue East to four lanes, is happening... it will also include bike lanes, divided medians, sidewalks, and a multi-use trail.

The current phase also includes constructing a bridge over the Braden River.

The next phase of the project includes the I-75 intersection and the connection to Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
