Florida Server who is Single Mom of 4, Tipped $1,300 & $1,500 in One Night
Kimberly Filion is a single Mom of 4, who works at Kirby's Sports Grille in Juno Beach, on Florida’s east coast. She has been for six years. The other night she mentioned in passing to a customer that she was a graduate of Ohio State University.
Kimberly said the customer ended up leaving her a $1,300 tip… with a note: "Go XU!!"
She said the customer then told her the big tip was part of the Crosstown Tip-Off Challenge, which began in Ohio as a means of expressing support for the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University while leaving big tips for servers.
Kimberly said she then told the great story to one of her regular customers later in the evening, and that man man ended up leaving her a $1,500 tip.
Kimberly said she split both big tips with her coworkers.
"We have employees here who are single moms. We have one employee who just had a baby."
"I am TRULY grateful for our loyal customers she wrote in a Facebook post.
