In the opening performance of the 2019 CMA Awards, The Highwomen kicked off the show with a spirited version of Tammy Wynette’s “Good Girls Gonna Go Bad,” followed by a tribute to the women of country music that took place across a couple of stages. The all-female medley featured a who's who of female stars, including Tanya Tucker, Gretchen Wilson, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Crystal Gayle, Sarah Evans, Martina McBride and Terri Clark.
