Seminole County, FL - A Seminole County bus driver was arrested Thursday on accusations that an incident of child abuse occurred on the driver's bus earlier in the week.

In a statement, the Seminole County Public Schools said the incident happened on a school bus Monday, though school officials and law enforcement weren't notified until late Wednesday.

No information has been provided regarding the driver's identity or the details of what happened.

An investigation into Monday's incident is ongoing.

According to the district's statement, the driver and a bus monitor who failed to report the incident were placed on administrative leave as an investigation continues.

The district says "we want to take this opportunity to reiterate that the safety of our students is our highest priority, and behavior like this will not be tolerated at Seminole County Public Schools."
