Florida Keys Preparing For Tropical Storm Conditions

The Florida Keys are preparing to feel Ian's effect as early as tomorrow.

That's why people are being asked to have their homes and boats secured by tonight.

Monroe County Emergency Management is strongly urging anyone in RVs and campers to move outside of the tropical storm warning area.

Since no general population shelters will be opening in the county, people in campgrounds, live-aboard vessel and mobile homes should prepare to stay with a friend or family member in a safe structure.

A final decision about whether schools will be closed tomorrow will be made this afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
