COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Florida.
The CDC reports the state averaged over 56-hundred cases a day in the week ending on Friday. That's a 20% increase from the previous week and the highest number of daily cases in three months.
Despite the increase, a University of Florida epidemiologist tells the Tampa Bay Times that experts are not expecting cases to surge the way they did after the Delta and Omicron variants first emerged.
Nationwide, 1-million people across the U.S. have died from complications of COVID.
