The Atlantic hurricane season sounds like the last thing the country wants to be worrying about in the middle of a pandemic, but some forecasters are predicting a very active season, which officially begins June 1st. Meteorologists at Penn State University say the 2020 hurricane season could be the second-most active on record, with 20 named storms predicted. The average is about 12. The grim prediction is also raising concerns about the country's readiness to respond to a natural disaster amid the coronavirus crisis. Meteorologists at other agencies, including the Weather Channel and AccuWeather, are also predicting an active season this year.
