Amazon workers at a warehouse in New York City plan to walk off the job today to demand cleaner work conditions and better pay during the coronavirus outbreak.
Employees at the Amazon fulfillment center in Staten Island, where several workers have tested positive for the virus, will walk off the job at lunchtime today and not return until the building is properly sanitized. This involves 5000 workers.
Workers for online grocery delivery service Instacart are also planning a walkout today. They're demanding another $5 per order, cleaning supplies and expanded pay for workers who have contracted the virus.
