Wreath Laying Ceremony Held To Honor The 75th Anniversary Of D-Day

104-YEAR-OLD VETERAN RECEIVES 70,000 VALENTINES

William White of Stockton, California, is a 104-year-old U.S. Marine veteran who earned a Purple Heart in World War II many decades ago.

But these days, he’s celebrating Valentine's Day like never before. That's because a social media campaign called “Operation Valentine” resulted in people sending him more than 70,000 letters from all over the world.

So much mail has been delivered that the family has had to get volunteers to help open the cards and read them to William, who admits that the whole ordeal has left him “sort of speechless.”
