If there’s ever a time you don’t want to run out of gas, it’s when you’re driving someone to the hospital. But that’s exactly what happened to a family in Brooksville, Florida recently. And thankfully, firefighters went above and beyond to help them out in an emergency. Hernando County firefighters arrived when the family’s car ran out of gas and paramedics took the person in need to the hospital. Then they pushed the car a quarter of a mile to the gas station and paid to fill their tank because they had no money, plus they took care of their tire that was losing air. "We encourage our firefighters to take that extra step and take care of people,” explains Deputy Chief Jim Billotte with Hernandy County Fire Rescue. “It's what we're all about.”
