The 104-year-old Marine Corps veteran is asking anyone and everyone to send him a card for Valentine's Day next month. “I’ll save every one of them like I’ve been saving little things that have come up until right now and they’ll be a personal part of my history,” he recently told a local news outlet. White adds that he'd keep the cards in his scrapbooks after he took up scrapbooking as a retirement hobby. White served in World War II and was wounded in the Battle of Iwo Jima. “The fact that I even survived is something,” the California native says. “When I was wounded, I didn’t have any choice in the matter. A grenade blow up about six inches from me.” Cards can be sent to: Operation Valentine, ATTN: Hold for Maj Bill White, USMC (Ret), The Oaks at Inglewood, 6725 Inglewood Avenue, Stockton, CA 95207.
