Bradenton-Sarasota was U-Haul's No. 7 Area for Growth in 2019

U-Haul International, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2019 Destination Cities with the return of its industry-leading annual migration trends reports.

The Bradenton-Sarasota corridor registers as the No. 7 Growth Area in America, according to U-Haul® data analyzing U.S. migration trends for 2019.

Arrivals of one-way in the Bradenton-Sarasota market in Florida were up 3% while departures rose almost 2% compared to the market’s 2018 numbers. Arrivals accounted for nearly 53% of all one-way U-Haul traffic in the Bradenton-Sarasota corridor to make it the No. 7 market for netting do-it-yourself movers.

Bradenton ranked No. 17 for growth in 2018, while Sarasota regularly ranks as a strong growth area as well.

Growth Cities are calculated by the net gain of one-way U-Haul trucks entering a city versus leaving that city during a calendar year. Migration trends data is compiled from more than 2 million one-way U-Haul truck sharing transactions that occur annually.

Although U-Haul migration trends do not correlate directly to population or economic growth, the Company’s growth data is an effective gauge of how well cities and states are attracting and maintaining residents.
