Annual Wreath Laying at Sarasota National Cemetery is this Saturday

Rain or Shine, we will Remember our Fallen Heroes on National Wreaths Across America Day, December 14, 2019 at Sarasota National Cemetery.

8:00AM - Patriot Guard Riders and other Motorcycle Organizations will escort the trucks carrying our wreaths into the cemetery for unloading.

10AM to 10:30am - On behalf of our Committee for Wreaths Across America, we invite everyone to attend our Remembrance Ceremony at 10am on December 14th at Sarasota National Cemetery. We urge everyone to arrive early to park and be seated at Patriot Plaza. There is ample seating this year, as well as attendants on site to assist you with transportation to and from your cars.

10:40am to 11:00am - Families First - The Laying of the Wreaths will begin at 10:30 for those individuals attending who have a Family Member interred at Sarasota National Cemetery. Those individuals will be allowed to lay their loved one's Wreaths FIRST!

11:00am to 11:30am - All Volunteers will lay remaining Wreaths AND say the Veterans Names Aloud and thank them for their service.

DIRECTIONS TO SARASOTA NATIONAL CEMETERY

FROM I-75

 I-75 to Exit #205 (Clark Road/State Rd 72). Go east on SR 72 4.7 miles to 2nd Entrance on right. Follow Parking Attendants Instructions for parking! Please arrive Early to assure adequate time for parking and seating at Patriot Plaza. Patriot Plaza seats 2,800 people.

STAGING AT HOME DEPOT PARKING LOT 5820 SR 64, BRADENTON FL 34208 

0630 hrs - Stage 

0700 hrs – RIDE CAPTAIN BRIEFING MANDATORY 

0730 hrs – KSU/DEPARTURE (or as directed by Wreaths Across America Chairman) 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate and lead in escorting Wreaths Across America trucks from the HOME DEPOT parking lot, 5820 SR 64, East Bradenton, Fl 34208, to Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota. 

Join Veterans, Active Duty Military and their Families escorting the Wreaths on their final leg to Sarasota National Cemetery and become part of history by placing a wreath at 1 of over 1,800 participating National Cemeteries and Veteran Monuments across the United States, at Sea and Abroad. 

All motorcycles are welcome and flag bikes are strongly encouraged (mounted 3 x 5 American Flag). 

All other vehicles wanting to participate in the escort are requested to have an American Flag (window flag if possible) mounted to the right side of the vehicle (facing it from the rear) to identify them as part of the escort. 

We will be escorting the Wreaths approximately 23 miles to the Cemetery on an Interstate Highway, So ensure your mounted flags are secure and capable of highway speeds. Speed will be around 60MPH and we will travel in the far left lane until time to transition to the far right lane for our exit.  

According to our Wreaths Across America Chairman, Patriot Guard Riders flag bikes will lead the escort, followed by Patriot Guard Riders non-flag bikes, followed by Veteran organizations, followed by independent riders, followed by automobiles.

If you are not participating in the escort, proceed directly to the Cemetery and join us for the Ceremony.
