Turning Points and its partners are hosting the 21st year of helping homeless veterans in Manatee County, through Stand Down.
Stand Down focuses on helping homeless and potentially homeless veterans and their families but also helps non-veterans and their families receive critical needs services.
These services include:
Hot Lunch
Showers
Distribution of Hygiene Products
Clothing Distribution
Haircuts
General and Mental Health Screenings (including flu shots)
Dental Screenings
Eye Exams
Florida ID/Drivers License
Veteran Services
Amnesty Court
Bicycle Raffle
The Open Door Band will be performing live all morning at the Main Stage. Jessica Cary is backing singing the National Anthem.
Turning Points is partnering with over 25 local organizations including: Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, The Salvation Army of Manatee County, Centerstone Florida, CareerSource Suncoast, MCR Health, the Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Department of Health (DOH), Manatee County Health Dept, JFCS of the Suncoast, Walgreens, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine LECOM, Goodwill Manasota, Veterans Services, Goodwill Manasota, Family Resources, Inc. Manatee County, HOPE Family Services, Manatee County, Florida Government, Mayors' Feed the Hungry Program, Manatee Technical College, State Attorney’s Office 12th Judicial Circuit, Whole Child Manatee and many Veterans, religious, and other organizations.
