This Five-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Donates Toys to Children’s Hospital

Weston Newswager of Carlisle,Pennsylvania, has had an eventful childhood.

Back in 2016, he was diagnosed with cancer -- and beat it. Thanks to the treatment he received at Penn State Children’s Hospital, Weston has been cancer free for two years now.

Before turning five years old in August, Weston was asked what he wanted for his birthday. He said he didn’t want anything for himself, but instead wanted to get “Play-Doh and dinosaurs” for the kids at the hospital.

That led to a massive toy drive. Over the past several weeks, Weston and his family were able to collect over 3,000 toys, including 1,500 containers of Play-Doh and dinosaurs.

Weston’s birthday wish definitely came true when he was able to deliver all those toys to the hospital, knowing they would brighten the days of the kids who are still undergoing treatment.
