A 98-year-old World War II veteran who's bagged groceries at a New Jersey supermarket for the past 10 years got the surprise of his life when he was thrown a surprise birthday party at work.
Tuesday, Bartholomeo “Bennie” Ficeto was treated to a bash complete with red, white and blue decor and members of the USO singing his favorite songs. “He’s become a local celebrity, so we want to give it back to him and throw him this party. He deserves it,” Stop and Shop manager Sal Marconi says.
