Kiwanis Club Donates Special Dolls To Kentucky Children's Hospital

A charity group in Lexington, Kentucky, is helping kids at Kentucky Children’s Hospital stay strong and brave by giving them special dolls.

Now, these dolls that the Kiwanis Club of the Blue Grass are giving away are unique because they are blank -- just plain cloth.

They are designed in such a way that the children can draw on them and doctors can use them to help explain procedures. They can also be modified to fit each child’s individual needs.

By making each doll personal, doctors and nurses can help the kids play through some of their fears.

The Kiwanis Club works with three different community organizations to make 20 to 30 dolls each week from a pattern.

And those dolls end up brightening the days of children who need it most.
