A free, family-friendly event with food, refreshments, music and demonstrations is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, this Saturday at their new Headquarters. 6010 Cattleridge Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34232
Members of the agency’s SWAT and emergency response teams, Mounted Patrol, K-9 and aviation units will display special equipment for attendees.
A tour of the Special Operations bureau also is being offered.
Human resources and emergency operations bureau will have information about career opportunities, and the agency’s Animal Services unit will bring adoptable animals.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Office’s second annual holiday toy drive, benefiting the 12th Judicial Circuit of Florida’s Guardian ad Litem program. The first 300 people to donate an unwrapped toy or gift card receive a free Sheriff’s Office T-shirt — limited to one shirt per person.
Clothing and stuffed animals will not be accepted.
