There's something about this time of year that brings out the best in people and inspires us to be kind to one another. A simple photo taken at a McDonald's in Indiana is doing just that.
28-year-old Eric Haralson sat down in McDonald's to grab a quick breakfast and quickly had some company. 70-year-old Jan also happened to be eating alone, so she walked over and asked if he'd like some company.
Eric, more than 40 years her junior, enthusiastically answered "yes," and for the next 45 minutes, the two complete strangers shared a meal and got to know each other.
At the end of their breakfast, they exchanged phone numbers and planned to meet up again for breakfast.
Meanwhile, another customer inside the McDonald's was watching the new friendship emerge and was inspired to take a photo, which she shared on Facebook, and wrote, "They didn’t know each other, and they couldn’t be more different. But today they shared a meal together and it touched our hearts."
