Back in April, Charles Dudley purchased ice cream and a Powerball ticket from a gas station in Wilton, Connecticut. He ate the ice cream and put the Powerball ticket in his wallet. And, forgot about it.
At least, he forgot about it until last week, when he was cleaning out his wallet, found the ticket -- and discovered that it was a million-dollar-winner.
Having a winning ticket is lucky, but it’s also lucky that he found it now because the ticket would have expired later this month.
He avoided heartbreak by cleaning out his wallet at the exact right time and is now enjoying a lottery jackpot.
