MAN JUMPS OFF BRIDGE TO SAVE DOG IN WATER

In Alabama, a simple road trip turned into an adventure when a man had to jump off a bridge to save his dog from the water below.

Al Trovinger and his dog, River, were stuck in traffic because of a car accident. River got restless, so Al put a leash on the dog and let her walk around. That wasn’t quite enough to calm River down, who lived up to her name by jumping into the water below, snapping her leash in half.

Al watched helplessly from above, before taking the plunge as well to save his dog.

Some good Samaritans nearby also pitched in by throwing a life vest in their direction.

Al was able to reach River and guide her to the shore, where paramedics and a state trooper were on the spot to make sure both were OK.

Luckily, neither Al nor River was injured. And, of course, the very first thing Al did was buy a stronger leash for his beloved -- and adventurous -- pet. (WKRN-TV)
