93-YEAR-OLD WOMAN THANKS FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH PAINTING

In an effort to stay busy, 93-year-old Bertine McDonald of Clinton, Mississippi, started painting about four years ago.

And then, two years ago, Bertine suffered a stroke that has made painting a bit more difficult for her. But, it hasn't stopped her.

She's had help along the way, with some of that help coming from the Clinton Fire Department. If she ever falls or gets in a jam, she calls the fire department -- and they've been very responsive, making sure that she's OK.

To thank the firefighters for their personal attention and care, Bertine recently donated one of her paintings, featuring an American flag, to the station.

Chief Jeff Blackledge accepted the gift and said the painting would hang in the fire department to motivate the fire fighters to continue doing a great job every day.
